The House on the Hill
Kathy and Sunny are dirt in the townspeople’s eyes after solving a murder implicating a beloved townsperson. Now, they have to redeem themselves and take on a job of cleaning a local house to be put on the market. When they see the Carter house, however, they realize they’re clearing decades of hoarded stuff. As they work, they find a body buried under stacks of tumbled boxes. Or was it? Soon the coroner confirms it was murder.
Brooke Sinclair, the realtor that hired Sunny and Kathy is dead and the people of Carey expect the mother/daughter team to solve the crime. Will they figure out who did it before they are victims themselves?
Steele the One
Sunny and Kathy Steele are celebrating Sunny’s cast being removed and go to the local beauty salon for a manicure. While they’re getting pampered, Liz Crabtree comes by in a tizzy. Her brother, Mayor Ernest Maples wants to have a big party to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary. Liz volunteered to organize the party for Ernest and Ernestine and the decorating company she contracted with has cancelled two days before the celebration. Kathy volunteers her and Sunny’s services, much to Sunny’s chagrin. They pull off the decorations for the outdoor public reception, and after the event, they return to remove the lights and screens before Stella Maples, Ernest’s mother, has a hissy fit. When they discover a body, Sunny and Kathy’s natural curiosity take over and they start their own investigation of the murder.
Sunny and Kathy discover more than they bargain for when they uncover the victim’s true nature, as well as connections with Ernest’s family and more associations between Carey and Nashville than they’d imagined. Will they find the killer, destroy the mayor’s political future, or realize they aren’t really cut out to be detectives, after all?
