My grandmother used to make the best chicken and dumplings when she was still living and cooking. It was always a treat when she’d make them for Sunday dinner. And a homecoming at church was never complete without her chicken and dumplings, apple stack cake or her corn cornbread. I miss those days. But I especially miss her more.
