I’d like to Welcome our Guest Author today — Rachel Brimble
Writing My First Series…
2012 was an extraordinary year for me – after five and half years of writing for small presses, I finally managed to break into the bigger publishers and secured contracts with both Harlequin Superromance and Kensington.
When my agent called to tell me Harlequin wanted to buy the first romantic suspense novel I had written since 2008, I literally screamed the house down! I wrote this story with Harlequin in mind but never dared hope they’d actually want to buy it. Dreams do come true!

Finding Justice is set in the fictional UK seaside town of Templeton Cove and when I finished it, I was so in love with the small cast of characters I’d created, I was eager to write a sequel. When I had written that, I was eager to write a series set in this small town that I am now one hundred percent in love with.
Luckily for me, my editor at Harlequin loves it too and the second book, A Man Like Him is coming in August, yay!

This book is also a romantic suspense and inspired by my experience being rescued by helicopter from the 2010 French floods. It was a joy to write and get all the terror and emotion my family and I went through onto the page.
Both books were contracted in 2012 and since then I am thrilled to announce Harlequin have contracted a further THREE books in the series. I could cry tears of joy just telling you that, lol! So it looks as though my beloved Templeton Cove is here to stay awhile longer. Book three is with my agent right now, with a Christmas 2014 book to follow soon.
Writing a series brings as many challenges as it does thrills, but I have never enjoyed writing so much in my entire career. I have drawn a map of the town to keep track of where everything is, as well as a list of characters and whose story I want to write in the future. I just love the choice I’ve inadvertently created for myself. Finding Justice is book one and I really hope you enjoy it enough to want to follow me on this exciting journey as the existing characters continue to grow and evolve, and the new characters get settled in.
Welcome to Templeton Cove!
Finding Justice is available now from Harlequin Superromance. Here’s the blurb and buy links:
Old friends, new secrets
Sergeant Cat Forrester lives by her own set of rules. When her childhood friend is murdered, Cat’s world is thrown into chaos. Especially because Jay Garrett-a man from her past-is a suspect, and he needs her help to prove he’s innocent. After all they once shared, how can she say no?
The attraction flares between them, and getting involved with a suspect is a huge risk. But the more time Cat spends with Jay, the stronger the tug on her heart. He is the same caring, irresistible man she remembers. Yet she can’t let her emotions interfere with the case—solving it is top priority. But as she digs deeper, she discovers Jay has secrets that may jeopardize any possible future together.
Rachel lives with her husband and two young daughters in a small town near Bath in the UK. After having several novels published by small US presses, she secured agent representation in 2011. In 2012, she sold two books to Harlequin Superromance. She also writes Victorian romance for Kensington–her debut was released in April 2013.
16 Marsden Place with Omnific Publishing (available June 2013) is her first romantic comedy since 2010.
Rachel is a member of the Romantic Novelists Association and Romance Writers of America. When she isn’t writing, you’ll find Rachel with her head in a book or walking the beautiful English countryside with her family and beloved black Lab, Max. Her dream place to live is Bourton-on-the-Water in South West England…although she hopes a dream visit to Canada might just change her mind!
She likes nothing more than connecting and chatting with her readers and fellow romance writers. Rachel would love to hear from you!
