I want to talk to you today about reading in general. How important is it to you? I saw this disturbing little flowchart on Facebook and it made me stop and think. At first I was pretty sure the numbers couldn’t be right, then I thought about my mother. She would have fallen into that 80% of US families did not buy or read a book last year before she retired. She didn’t read, because she didn’t have time, or it wasn’t something she cared about doing, but that has changed now for her. She started reading and now she reads all the time.
A year ago my son didn’t care about reading then he found something that sparked his interest and now he reads all the time.
So maybe these statistics are true, and we need to make more time for it by turning off the TV, staying off social media so we’ll have the little extra time to pick up a book.
Just something to think about.

Fortunately, I love to read. Always have. At the moment, I have more books and samples of books on my IPad and Kindle then I may ever read, but it could happen. I may finish them yet…
