Sunday Sundaes

My friend Christy’s grandmother crocheted her a cut little purse when we were probably in the 1st grade. It was white with pink edging and drawstring. But the trick was it wasn’t just a purse. When  you opened it up, folded down the sides it made a baby bassinet. Inside was a pink little pouch with a white yarn baby. I must have had a fit over it because my mom had her make me one in blue. But there is more to the story. Christy and I didn’t just carry these little purses. We used them when we played Barbies. They became the baby beds for our Barbie children’s babies. I might still have this little purse/toy stashed away in one of my Barbie cases in the back of the closet. I don’t know. But I can’t see me getting rid of it as a child since I liked it so much.

Ah fond memories. I really hope I have a granddaughter one day that I can give these to and she can spend hours playing as Christy and I did those many years ago.
