Recipe Tuesday

We went to this really great European Cafe while in Old Town Alexandria called Bread and Chocolate. We had awesome hot chocolate and I had the best Chicken Pot Pie I think I’ve ever tasted. My son tried a Turkey Cordon Blue Panini. My friend had a Panini also and then we shared Chocolate Fondue for dessert.  This was the best dessert I think I’ve ever had. So I’d like to share a Chocolate Fondue recipe with you today.

Chocolate Fondue

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. dark chocolate chips or if using a block of chocolate chopped into smaller pieces to help melting
  • 8 oz. heavy whipping cream
  • pinch salt
  • your choice of dippables (chunked pineapple, chunked apples, sliced strawberries, grapes, bananas, banana nut bread, orange slices
  • sprinkle dippables with powdered sugar

In a sauce pan, warm whipping cream until it comes to a slow boil. Add chocolate and whisk until smooth. Immediately pour into a fondue pot warmed over a low flame. Eat immediately.
