Sad news: I did not get to make my grasshopper pies over the weekend. I had trouble finding the creme de menthe liqueur and the creme de cacao liqueur. But I will prevail and make it even if it means I pay a visit to a liquor store to buy the ingredients. And if I go there I know there will be Bailey’s Irish Creme. It is good to pour a small amount over vanilla ice cream. And that leads me to my recipe for today.
Frozen Mudslide
- 32 ice cubes
- 6 oz. vodka
- 6 oz. Bailey’s Irish Creme liqueur
- 6 oz. Kahlua coffee liqueur
- 6 oz. heavy cream
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 8 scoops chocolate ice cream
- chocolate syrup
- whipped cream
- chocolate sprinkles or shavings
Crush ice a few cubes at a time in a blender until you have a fine, consistent texture. Add vodka, liqueurs, heavy cream and ice creams and blend on high for 45 seconds. Pour into a tall, chilled hurricane glass and server with a straw. Garnish drink with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a few chocolate sprinkles or shavings. Makes 4 drinks.
