Guest Author Monday

Today I’d like to welcome Guest Author — Margarita Felices and her character Rachel de Grosnez

RACHEL - CopyMy name is Rachel de Grosnez and I am a vampire.  I was born a normal, human baby but my parents were pure blood vampires and thanks to our spiritual book called the Book of Cain, I was born.  On my 16th birthday I was made into a vampire by a special ceremony that my parents prepared me for.  I meant that I had to die and sleep for a month, but once I awoke, I’d be a vampire and could start all my adventures.

Thing is, once I awoke, it didn’t work out that way.

A few weeks before my 16th birthday, a vampire arrived at the Elysium and I didn’t know what he saw in me, but we never left each others side from that day.  Max was the first name I whispered to myself in the morning and the last one at night.  Our lives at the Elysium was different to those other vampires you’ve heard about.  We had daylight and we saw the moon and stars at night.  We were protected by the Book of Cain and I should have seen it coming.  I should have seen Max for what he was.  Arun, my best friend hated him, I should have listened.

So when my 16th birthday came around, I went to sleep and Max put his plan into action.  He created a diversion and broke into the Temple and stole the book, and then he was gone.  I couldn’t believe it, he hadn’t been interested in me after all, and worse still. My parents were the guardians of the book.  It was their job to teach from it and to protect it.  My father had been the vampire who found it after it was lost for centuries.  The book had created me and they were banished from the Elysium because of Max – and me.

I have spent 300 years looking for the book – and Max.  Once I find either one of them I’ll know what to do.  But last night I met someone, it was Halloween and I didn’t see any harm in joining in, I mean, who would suspect a real vampire among all those in costume?  His name is Daniel and I don’t know what to do.  I’ve never felt this way about any of them, I mean, I’ve come close in my 300 year search, but this man?  Well I’m going back to see him tonight, he owns a night club and I’m actually associating with mortals!  I have to know if this is someone worth committing to, perhaps even to the extent of telling him who I am. I’ve been alone for such a long time, I deserve to have someone love me, I don’t care what Arun says.  I have a feeling I may have some competition on my hands, there are a number of females making eyes at him, but I’ve always liked a challenge!

  1. Hi Margarita,
So the quest for the book of Cain begins. This sounds like a fun adventure and different from the norm vampire fare. I’ll have to give it a try.
