Going to see the Jets
One Sunday Christy’s dad decided to take us to the airport to see the planes take off. I remember that Christy, her little brother and dad, me, my mom, and little brother took a drive (separate cars cause the whole lot of us couldn’t fit in one) from Knoxville to Alcoa where the Knoxville airport is located. None of us kids had ever been there before (I don’t think my mom had either) so it was a real treat. We got to watch a few planes land and others take off that day. Then on the way home, we stopped at Kay’s Icecream on Broadway and had ice cream cones.
